Born on Set: A LIFE In MOTION

For over four decades, my life has been shaped by light, movement, and story. Long before I understood what cinema was, I was already living inside it—growing up among the corridors and soundstages of the iconic Churubusco Studios. As a child and teenager, I wandered through worlds that most only see on screen: the haunting universe of David Lynch’s Dune, the explosive sets of Rambo with Sylvester Stallone, the futuristic intensity of Total Recall with Arnold Schwarzenegger, the adventurous spirit of Romancing the Stone with Michael Douglas, the playful imagination of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, and the vibrant tragedy of Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio. Those early experiences were more than memories—they became the foundation of a life built from the inside of the industry.

Growing up in that environment didn’t just inspire me—it defined how I chose to enter the craft. I learned filmmaking from the ground up, stepping onto set not as an observer, but as part of the machinery that brings stories to life. From my early days as a Set P.A. and VTR attendant to advancing through Unit Manager and Unit Production Manager, and ultimately shaping projects as a Line Producer and Creative Producer, each role deepened my understanding of the process. This 360-degree path has allowed me to develop a precise, practical, and human approach to production—one that balances creative ambition with the realities of execution, and respects every moving part that makes a set function.

That foundation has led me to collaborate with some of the most respected names in the industry and to deliver work at the highest level of commercial and narrative production. Within the world of high-end advertising, I have partnered with internationally recognized directors such as Ruben Fleischer, Johnny Green, Bryan Buckley, Juan Cabral, Robert Stromberg & Santiago Sierra Soler, Martin Werner, and Keith Schofield.

My work has been further shaped alongside exceptional Directors of Photography including Malik Sayeed, Nicolai Brüel, Alejandro Martínez, and Galo Olivares, as well as Academy Award winner Linus Sandgren. I have also collaborated closely with world-class creative leaders such as Oscar-winning Production Designer Eugenio Caballero, contributing to projects where visual ambition and technical precision meet at scale.

In recent years, the scale and ambition of my work have continued to expand. I had the opportunity to step into the dark, imaginative world of Tim Burton, collaborating alongside Lady Gaga on her Dead Dance music video—an experience that blurred the line between spectacle and storytelling. I also entered the realm of science fiction as a key production force behind The Portal of Force, a feature filmed across the vast and rugged landscapes of Durango, Mexico, bringing together an international cast including Kevin Spacey, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, and Tyrese Gibson.

From chasing cockroaches for a fast-turnaround TV spot to navigating remote deep and flooded jungles with full-scale crews, my journey through production has been as diverse as the stories I help bring to life. Beyond the scale of the projects or the names attached to them, my focus remains constant: elevating the work, pushing creative boundaries, and advocating for safer, more sustainable conditions for the crews at the heart of every production.
